The bus has been giving us a little bit of trouble, the steps stopped working when we were loading it at home, but it has been to shitty to get underneath and check them out. Then when we set up in Port Lavaca the damn things started working again. When I started the MH the stairs came in, but the main switch that operates all of the RV side of the MH somehow shut off. I did not realize this until I went to put the sides in and nothing was working in the control panel. I turned the switch on again, and everything else worked but the stairs. There is a light on the stairs, and it is only glowing at about of its brightness when the stairs are not working, and at full glow when all is OK. I am going to check the main control panel which is in the basement of the bus, not the fuse panel which I have already looked at and nothing is marked stairs.
The bus is not starting, I turn the key and nothing happens, dead silence excepting all of the sirens going off as the door is open, the stabilizers are down, the air is not up to capacity, I mean the damn thing is screaming, but from the back where the engine is, nothing but silence. I turn the key again, and nothing happens, again, and whom off goes the Cummins and we are smiling. I worry it may happen on a ferry, but it doesn’t, only happens after it has sat overnight? We also, because of the weather, have not given it a bath since we left home, while I guess I should say since we went to Myrtle Beach in the fall, maybe its pissed?  This is not the first time I have thought this was happening, as I have noticed it on past travels, but by tuning the key again, it has always started.
The single handle faucet in the bathroom sink, leaks when you turn the water on. It does not drip, it runs perfectly, but water comes out from the base of the tap and leaks below into the cabinet only when you turn the water on.
If anyone has any ideas of these problems, please advise.
130118 – Finally we are getting great weather. We have been in Paradise South RV Park, in Mercedes Texas now for 3 nights, and I just went up and checked in for a month. The rate is $345. + $50. deposit for electricity. It is a mid size park with about 70% of those here being permanents, another 20% being returnees, and then I guess there are a few of us in here. At the present time there are approximately 20 busses of “Coonasses” in the front corner of the park, they call them selves the “Ragin Cajuns” and they are a travel group from Lafourcher (La foosh) Parrish area of Louisiana, they are a fun loving group and are very friendly, as were the other “Coonasses” we met in Bayou Segnette.  There seems to be a bunch of empty sites, but perhaps this is just a sign of the times. Everything seems to be well looked after, the grounds are clean, maintenance guys are bopping here and there, and the main hall, office, bathrooms, exercise room, pool room, library, and the outside games areas, shuffle board, horseshoes, etc. are very  well looked after and there is lots for people who want to do things, to do. Things they do, and they flock back and forth from the rec centre area, first thing and middle thing, and last thing of the day. Just looking at today’s schedule, French Toast Breaky, Bean Bag, Bean Bag Baseball, Horse Races in Rec hall. Now how the hell are they going to get horses into this damn rec hall, and how are they going to run around, and where the hell are we going to sit to watch the damn things and place the pari-mutuels, and what about when they crap all over the place, wow I have a lot to learn. Think I will go out today and by a bicycle and a baseball glove and some paper and glue, piss on that think I will cross the freeway and go to the Paradise Bar & Grill, and Ty One On.Anyways the pool and hot tub area are awesum. I have been in every morning, as well as doing a little work out in the gym, breaking in slowly. I have been taking therapy, not mental although you know I need it, but physical from Brent at the KP Health Clinic for a few months now for serious pain in my neck shoulders and arms. Now this is a great service, and Brent is a great therapist, but damn it my ailment seems to have cleared up. I am suggesting to Angie that it may be my Easy Boy, so we will probably be looking for some new living room furniture when we get home.Back to the pool and the hot tub. If today is any example, we are going to really enjoy these facilities as it seems no one else is. Although the first 2 mornings I went in it was cool, 50 F in the morning, but the hot tub is 104, and the pool is 80+, I was the only one in, and getting out made me realize why no one was in, common the boys were upset. Persevere I did though. Today on the other hand was a perfect day 70 F with lovely bright and hot sun shine that beamed down on us from high and brought much needed heat to our white skins, with a few scattered clouds to highlight the deep blue of the sky. I was going to say old white skins, but Angie might read this, although she usually doesn’t. Anyways started with an ice tea at 11, switched to 3 Millers at noon, returned to the adobe at 3 and made a big tequila cocktail for Angie and I, and by 4 pm, plus one more Millers, I was pleasantly  pissed, stoned that is, feeling good, as only good can feel, yep, I was diggin the day. Oh well, back to 4:47, it was a great day, and we had a salad and warmed up the pizza we had left over from yesterday when we stopped at a great restaurant, west of here on Bus. 83, the Original Momma Mia’s. This was a lovely clean Italian restaurant, and the food was delicious the owner is a great looking Mexican girl, and the young waiter, making $2.17 an hour was very good, and very social. We will go back to here.  Upon returning to the park we sat around our patio, listened to some music, and retired with the rest of the retirees at 7 pm to watch some tube, as it was cooling down, although I think some if not most called it a day.Saturday was also a beautiful day, we are now taking Ford across the street to a large educational facility, and walking the track and throwing him the fetch it. The first day I went we were asked to leave around 8 am as according to security, the track is closed to the public from 7 30 – 4. I guess because of what is going on at schools I don’t blame them. There is a levy right here also, so we have to find access and walk along it. It is just too much BS walking him in the park, on the leash, and with so many people around wanting to pet him and ask questions. Already we have provided Joy with info on where we got him, Golden Pointe Kennels in Port Lambton. I think she is hooked.Anyways we wiled away most of the day wandering around the Donna flea market, picked up a few groceries at the H.E.B. and I bought an extended sewer pipe at Walmart. Was a little disappointed in Lowes, thought they would be cheaper for the flex hose, but they didn’t even carry it. Crap, the pipe connector for the connection to the sewer, a part I have never had, using just a rubber ring previously, and 20’ of hose, both from Camco, were less then $20, can’t beat that, I say. We got back to the bus, had a cocktail and lunch, a siesta, and went up to the rec centre for a hot tub, while Angie checked out the horse races. Manana, NFL playoffs plus 50 cent a scoop ice cream in the rec centre at 3, bring your own bowl and spoon, might go for 2. Yahoo! Also if I didn’t mention, everyone is very friendly, but as you can imagine, a little clicky. I don’t blame them though, as people come and people go. We are already talking about returning to Louisiana. Great food!About the trailer life I think I like it. Like it like that!   That’s all folks. Thanks for reading. Its all good.

Hey big guy.
Glad you're having a good time (mostly)...
RE: the steps....the dim light may indicate that there's not enough power going to the steps to be able to retract them. This could be caused by a poor connection somewhere. Could be a loose fuse or a bit of dirt on a connection or fuse. Also, you have likely checked the battery terminals to make sure they are tight and clean. If a terminal is loose that would explain both the stairs and the starting problem....also a good powerful wash underneath may do the trick....but what do I know...Good luck. It's -15 C here today but warm in the mancave. Rock on!!

tom & theresa on

Have you ever thought of pulling the MH with the Edge ????

Howard on

Oppps, forgot....could also be a loose ground wire.

Glad to here all is well with you all. It is a little colder here warming up a little next week we are over half way through the winter already. We are going to the cottage this weekend Hugh is playing in the Silver Stick this weekend in Forest too bad Angie wasn't here we know how much she likes watching people she knows play. As for your Motorhome check all electrical connections paying close attention to the ground . If you can't find anything wrong find out from some of the people in the Park where a good RV teck could be found you don't want to have a breakdown when you are on the road that would cost big bucks($$$) the only problem is when something is intermittent it's hard to find out what is causing the problem . As for the tap it probably needs a repair kit take name off tap go to hardware store and get a new kit. This sounds like started my own blog LOL BUY($$$) FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Marv
