AT LAST!!!!  We have been able to get to the beach......

Sunday night I met up with cousin, Damien McAleer and his girlfriend Ciara at the Mercantile bar.  Had a good night's craic there and have planned to meet with up Damien again on Friday at Bondi where he is living.  The Mercantile is a very well known Irish bar in Sydney and was heaving with Irish folk on Sunday night, which seems to be THE night in Sydney.
On Monday we woke up to glorious sunshine and it was up and away to the beach and to Manly Beach this time.  It was just beautiful, pure white sand, crystal blue water, the surfers crashing through the swell, beautiful bodies everywhere.  So we sizzled on the beach all day.... factor 30 here.... and headed back to Syndey at 6pm for our evening of culture.  We booked into see some theatre at the Opera House.  I mean you just cannot leave Sydney without going to see something at the Opera House.  It really is a fantastic building and the play was called The Vertical Hour.  It was a little bizzare and strange, a very intense drama but it was good and all the Aussies seemed to appreciate it.  So as were were heading to Melbourne the next day, it was an early-ish night before we headed off.

By the way I have discovered why I'm having problems uploading my photos, my memory card has a virus but a little Chinese man sorted it all out for me and managed to rescue my pictures.  So I'm gonna spend tomorrow morning uploading them the slow way and try and keep them viruses away.  So hopefully photos to come very soon.
