Paris put a big smile on my face and made me feel something no other European city has before. I spent the day riding around the city and lucky for me it happened to be Wednesday so I got to visit the Louvre at a discount rate in the evening. This was my first museum visit this trip, and I really enjoyed it. The selection was so varried and every piece, even if I didn't particularly like it, was so unique. I have to admit I was lost the whole time I was in there. I gave up trying to locate my position on the map in the first 5 minutes and decided to just wander around until the museum closed.
France is nice for cycle touring
Thank you for your supportive notes and emails; it is what keeps me going. I miss you all,
Notes for the cycle-tourist:
-If you like being alive, don't try to ride your bike around the Place de la Concorde or the Place de la Bastille roundabouts in Paris.
-North of Paris, France has been really good for giving me different options in the route I take. Maybe it's the map I have, but alot of the times I get to a highway that should be totally secondary and it's pretty much an Autostrada. So I take the next exit and use my compass to search for an alternate route, and so far it has worked out. So if you don't like the road you're on, spend 10 minutes to find a more pleasant route.
-The wind has been blowing directly north against me. Consider doing your route south to north. But of course, it's the wind; it blows all over the place and chances are if you plan to go south to north it will blow south!!
