Before getting on with my cycle-touring I decided to take a side trip with my cousin. We flew to London for 2 days using one of those cheap inter-European flights. It was quite the experience as the airline does not asign seat numbers so everyone lines up to shove and push for the best seats. Itīs true that the flights are cheap but the taxes are not, so you still end up having to spend quite a bit. But it was worth it for me because I got to do something completely different and see a place I would not have gone to on my bike.
Besides who would want to miss the chance to see the place where everyone drives on the wrong side of the street, passing eachother on the right with the bikes riding in the left most lane. The place where the parks are plenty as are the tourists. And the capital where you see Arabs everywhere but have a hard time spotting a single British.

We spent most of our money on transportation in London and this made me really miss my bike.  Especially when I had to run back 2kms to the outdoor store where I baught a really good cheap tent, 20 minutes before they closed, because I suddenly realized that there is no way the airport security is going to let me take the poles on the flight with me. Those damn terrorists ruining it for all of us!  Other than that, we ate alot of bananas and carrots and thatīs how we pulled off London.

From here, I am heading towards Brussels to hopefully have a visit with another acquaintance made earlier on this trip. Remember Catherine and Patrick, the father and daughter who rescued us from our curse of being stuck on Sicilia?

just wishing you good luck...
Hi Ainaz! I'm at my parents' home today so I checked your travel blog and it's really nice! I'm looking forward to regularly read your adventures from now on. I hope you arrived in Brussels today and that your trip to there went without any problems. The day after we met, I called Elisabeth in the late evening (at about 23 o'clock) to check if everything was going according to 'plan', but I guess you were both or visiting the largest bar of Europe (remember ;) ) or already asleep. So I left a message on the voice mail but I haven't heard of her since. In each case, like I know her, she probably has done everything she can to help you.
It really was so nice to meet you. If you have any problem during your trip in Belgium, you can always call me and I'll try to help you. Take care Ainaz and enjoy your marvellous trip through Europe!
Big hug,
