08.28.07 - 8:51pm
Well! It's official! We are officially up in the air at 33,500 ft!  We're flying on a German airline called Lufthansa.  It's so funny that the directions are in German first, then English...now we're the minority and waiting to be told what to do.  I have a few shots from up in the air of Boston,  I can't wait to fly over the Alps!  We're kind of anxious to see what's being served for dinner.

When I arrived at the airport I met up with everyone that was flying out of Boston, which is like 8 archies and 10 other kids with various majors.  This will be DJ's second semester in Florence, he went last spring. He'll be a big help!  Nick Lively is flying for the first time, apparently he decided to go big or go home for his first time on a plane! I know some of you at home would shit your pants if this was your first flight Boston

!  Others that you'll hear me talk about are:  Kara, Ash (or Arod), Dana, Kelly, Nick, Buzzy, Barker, DJ, Danny, Aviel, Reid, Erin, Steve, and probably anyone we meet during the trip!

They're serving drinks right now, various waters (who knew you'd be given a choice of so many? Which do you choose? Aren't they all the same?), wine, and of course beer and hard alcohol.  I politely asked the "gentleman" behind me if it was okay if I put my seat back, he decided to respond with a rude sounding, "No. Do not. It's not okay."...ummmm BIG douche bag. Kelly said I should put it back anyways just in spite.  Kimbo, I know you would have agreed. Haha. But Lyf, I decided against it and refrained. You should be so proud.  I'm not going to lie, I did consider doing it though.

Well I guess I should take this time to give everyone the heads up on contacting me.  Apparently we don't have internet access in our apartments. So the only time I'll be able to get on the internet for free is when I'm at studio or in the school building.  Cafés have wireless internet available, but it costs.  So please remember if you send me an e-mail and I don't respond quickly, it's not that I'm ignoring my e-mails, it's that we're restricted on where and when we can access the internet.  The following will be the order of sites I will be checking often (from greatest priority to least): school e-mail (llewis110@hawks.rwu.edu), travelpod (travel blog I'll be attempting to upload as often as possible), facebook/myspace.

Remember, for the travel blog e-mail look at the e-mail address!  The subject line will say something about "ailleagan has uploaded her travel blog" or something to that nature...it's NOT spam First airplane meal!
First airplane meal!
! Just look for my e-mail addy.  Now I'm going to try to update it with pictures and journal entries as often as possible! But don't be surprised if I get a little behind! However, I am making a point to keep a journal (both hand written and electronic through word) this will allow me to get onto my travel blog and back date my entries to the original date I wrote them.  This will also allow me to incorporate my pictures into each entry.
So the food smells good at least! They're beginning to come around with trays. Should be interesting! I'm so excited for Italy! :) So we just got the food. We had a choice between a chicken dish and a pasta dish, of course I chose the pasta one. It was actually really good! It had a tomato sauce with mushrooms and mozzarella on top, a salad with shrimp (which did not look to promising so I didn't risk it), grapes and swiss cheese, and a chocolate mousse dessert with a  strawberry on top...you would have loved it dad. Lol jk!

Alright, it's about that time...my contacts are going dry and the vision is getting blurry. It's 10:53 and I'm exhausted. Time to recline the seat back on Mr. Douche Bag and pass the hell out! G'night all! Until t'mar...Ciao!!!
