With that in mind we were on the road by 8am Friday morning in order to get through the park before the heat oif the day kicked in. By 8-30am we had arrived at Furnace Creek for a break and the the thermometer was already reading 34C.
Shortly after 9am we had stopped at Badwater Creek which is the lowest place in Death Valley at 282 feet below sea level and the temperature had risen to 39C. We didn't hang around for long though.
Surprisingly I was managing alright in the heat which was as much of a surprise to me as it will be to many of you
On arrival in LV this afternoon it was very hot indeed, especially in traffic as it was 41C. All we wanted at that stage was to get off the bikes, so we made do with New York New York hotel and casino. We were lucky enough to get free room upgrades so are living comfortably for tonight at least.
