Last Entry for the Trip
When: December 1st, 2007 - early in the morning
Where: Elyria Park - sitting on a bench, hanging out with my dog Casper

I'm suffering from a bit of depression.  Ok - it's probably not that serious. Still, I'm more dreading the idea of getting back to the rhythm of LA life than I am anticipating settling back into it. Unlike most people, I'm never really worried about jet-lag - it's the "life-lag" that I'm more worried about.   For me, it's always tough to come back from an adventure such as what Angela and I endured for the past 2 weeks.  You get so used to living a different kind of life when you're on holiday.  It's like living in a fantasy world where everything and anything is possible. And when it's over, you get smacked across the forehead with a fistful of reality.  But with such a wallop comes some perspective - some clarity, if you will - that allows you to reassess whatever troubles or qualms you find yourself worrying about.  And eventually, it renders most of them irrelevant and trivial in comparison to the bigger picture.

Going into this trip, Angela and I were both equally excited about the uncertainty that our journey would bring.  It was pregnant with possibilities and we were frothing at the mouth at the idea of discovering new places as well as new points of views. The excitement leading up to the trip was unbearable at times but it certainly lived up to the hype.  We were able to accomplish almost all the things we wanted to do. Thankfully, we were fortunate enough to have had only a few mis-carriages along the way.  Which in hindsight is quite a rare feat considering all the things that could've gone wrong.

As I sit here witnessing the birth of a new sun, I find myself wondering what other kinds of frivolities lay ahead of me.  What new worlds, new places, new faces, new languages, and new experiences will I discover?  Perhaps I will journey westward to the Maldives, India, and Thailand.  Or perhaps, I will journey southward to Peru, Argentina, Brazil, and maybe even Antarctica.  Either way, there's no way I'm stopping this train. Just like my man John Mayer said, "Don't stop this train - Don't for a minute change the place you're in - And don't think I couldn't ever understand - I tried my hand - John, honestly we'll never stop this train."  And why would I want to anyway....

Thanks for reading...
