Day 5: Paris to London to Capetown
When: November 19th, 2007 - Night
Point of Entry: Heathrow Airport, next to some smelly Indian dude

Angela almost killed an elderly Parisian lady on the street today. Funniest shit EVER! We were making our way back to Gare Du Nord this afternoon when Angela zoomed by this elderly lady. The woman wasn't paying attention and didn't notice that Angela walked behind her to get thru to the other street. Angela was dragging her small carry-on behind her. The woman turned around just as Angela's carry-on was in front of the woman's feet. As the woman stepped forward, one of her feet tripped over Angela's bag and she fell hard unto the filthy Parisian floor. Hahahahaha. The funny part was when the old lady started cursing at Angela. All Angela could say to me is, "Dude, how do you say sorry in French?!" Hahaha - fun times indeed.

Any who - last night ended as an adventure. After last night's debauchery, it started to rain. Pop Quiz for all you past Math Wiz champions at home. What do you get when you add Freezing Cold Temperature and Wind Chill, multiplied by the number of available taxis that are frenetically trying to accommodate for the strike, minus the amount of sleep we had the night before? If you guessed two miserably wet and cold Americans, then give yourself a Gold Star. Haha - In all seriousness, it was actually quite fun getting lost in Paris trying to find our way home. It didn't help any that we didn't know our hotel address. We could've avoided this whole thing if we could've provided the only taxi cab we found a suitable address to drive us to.

Well, needless to say, we made it back to the hotel in one piece - albeit wet. More importantly, we didn't miss our train back to London and made it to Heathrow in time for our flight to Capetown South Africa. Phew!

I think I speak for the both of us when I say we are looking forward to the warmer weather. We're just not looking forward to the 11.5 hours to get there. Urgh!
London and Paris was fun. Didn't really get to do everything I wanted to - but still managed to have tons of fun trying to do so. And to me, that's much more fun and exciting than actually doing it. See you in Africa!!

Brief Airport news: Heathrow is massively confusing. They're doing some construction on site which makes it even more confusing for travelers. One great point of interest to note - prayer rooms for the Muslim faith. I thought that was pretty cool.
