Day 3: London and Paris
When: November 17th, 2007 - night
Point of Entry: On the Eurostar en route to Paris - Cab 5 Seat 57
Ok. So, trips normally don't ever go according to plan. There's usually a hiccup or two, sometimes more, that pepper a trip. Our vacation is certainly no exception.
First - the lens that I rented from Samys Camera stopped working properly. For some reason, I keep getting an error message every time I tried to take a picture. This sucks ass because I was looking forward to capturing as much as I can with that lens.
However, we tried not to let it deter us. So we soldiered on and made our way to West Minster Abbey. To our dismay, the Abbey was closed in preparation for the Queen's 60th wedding anniversary. Bummer number two. We decided to head over to a camera repair store in Totenham in hopes of finding a quick fix to our camera problem. But the girl at the camera store said that it would cost me £50 (quid) for her to even look it over plus I have to leave it over night. Overnight?! We leave for Montmarte in 5 hours!! Fuck that!!
We moved on to St. James park - a lovely park that's located right in front of Buckingham Palace. It's sorta like Central Park only not so central and only a fraction of the size. But brilliant nonetheless.
Buckingham Palace was cool - but we were over it pretty quickly. We decided to grab some food at a local pub. Bangers and Mash for me and Fish and Chips for Angela. Afterward, we decided to go to one last place before we went off to Paris - Portobello Market off of Notting Hill Gate. I think of it as a Melrose type of place. Angela found this top
