Are we really going to Bali?

I still can't believe I'm going to Bali of all places. It's been five years since that infamous Bali bombing where more than 200 innocent people died. To be honest with you, I never really thought about it until now. Even when I was doing research a few months back on Bali, I
never paid much attention to it. So... am I excited to go? Of course!!! But... am I scared shitless of a possible second strike? You betcha!
It'll be interesting to see how this small island nation rebounded from such a devastating event - both economically and culturally. I'm sure there is a lot to be said about the people who had to endure such a tragic moment in their history. I'm sure most, if not all, U.S. Citizens can relate to what they went through in some form or fashion.
With that said, I can't fucking wait to go. BALI!! What's it going to be like, I wonder?! I'm so excited to learn about the Balinese culture - the food, the language, the religion, and of course, their way of living.
That's not to say that this trip will only consist of nerdy factoid nonsensical crapolla - No Way! I fully intend to enjoy the local frivolities and absurdities while I'm there. Bintang Beer - woohoo!
The second leg of our trip will take us to Hong Kong. Now, we didn't plan on going to Hong Kong to begin with. But when we found out that we had an 8 hour layover in Hong Kong en route to Los Angeles, we figured it would be prudent of us not to take advantage of such a fortuitous turn of events. So we both said, "Fuck it! Why not?!" - which happens to be THE only way of deciding whether or not you should do something. What awaits us in the fabulous city of Hong Kong? Who knows? And what does it really matter anyway? Perhaps I'll finally get to taste some authentic Chinese cuisine - no offense to Panda Inn, of course. We'll just have to wait and see....
