Our last stop on the cruise was Santorini. This was one of my favorite stops. The island used to be huge but due to a volcano, the whole island was split up. There is now one main island that has steep cliffs and then little islands scattered around. It was so pretty as we were coming into the port. A group of us went up onto the deck at the front of the ship and watched as we came in. It was so windy and a little chilly that we thought it was going to be cold on the island. So we all ran back and got our coats, but surprise, it was really nice on the island.

When we landed, we had to take tender boats to the island because there is no where to dock. To get up to the town, you had the choice of riding a donkey, walking or riding in a cable car. Well, I was all for riding the donkey up, and I think our entire group did. I had so much fun riding up. My donkey went kind of fast and caught up to Nathan, Mandy and Katie fairly quickly Cathderal and Sun

. We eventually made it up to the town and what a marvelous view. It was so pretty looking out onto the port and all of the little islands. The island was so pretty with all whitewashed buildings. This was a common theme on all of the islands we visited. Santorini is the island where the ending of the Bourne Identity was filmed. We walked around the town, doing some sightseeing and shopping. There is a beautiful white cathedral with a blue bell tower, so we decided to go and find this. I was with Nathan, Mandy, Dani, Steph, Laura, Jamie, Mallory, Lesley, Heather and Alex. We found the cathedral and enjoyed a magnificent view. The houses along the ridges were beautiful. We also got to see the sun beginning to set up here. It would have been awesome to be able to see the sunset all the way from up here. We headed back down to the boat, and decided to walk along the donkey path instead of pay 3.50 to ride in the cable car or on the donkeys. I was glad we did this because we got to enjoy the beautiful sunset on our way down. Out of all of our sunsets we saw on the cruise, I think this one was the prettiest. The sunset right over one of the islands out in the sea and was just a beautiful color. I got some awesome pictures of this.

We caught a tender boat back to the ship and decided to get all dressed up for dinner. We ate in the dining room for one last meal. I had a good pasta for dinner and a chocolate cream cake for dessert. We went to the evening performance which ended up being really good. It was a tour around the world. All the dances were very different and there were some neat costumes. During the magic show, Mandy was dragged up onto stage to be an assistant with the trick. It was hilarious to see her up there helping out. After the show, Mandy, Nathan and I played Uno. A little later, Jacob also joined in. By midnight, I was exhausted, so I headed back to my room, packed my stuff up and went to bed.

When we woke up, we were back on the main island. I think everyone slept on the way back to the Artemis and we all enjoyed relaxing since we didn't have classes.
