Gala Dinner

Tonight on the ship, we had our Gala dinner. There was about five of us girls, who all crowded into my room to get ready. It was fun to get all dressed up and to get ready with a bunch of girls. I wore my black pants and a pink button up shirt and actually curled my hair. Since I have been here I haven't really curled my hair or done anything along those lines since I have been here. Steph did my makeup and then I curled my hair. I helped Mandy get ready by curling her hair. It was fun helping everyone pick out their outfits and all. We had first sitting at dinner which was nice, so we met up with everyone on the stairs heading down to the dining room. We had such a fun time at dinner. I sat at the same table again, with Jamie, Steph, Dani, Lesley, Nathan, Sean and Mandy. We had such a good time and tried all sorts of different foods again. For the appetizer I tried smoked Salmon. I really don't know what I thought it was going to be, but what came out was very different then I expected. It was cold and like a sandwich meat but I ate the whole thing. For dinner, I had the duck al'orange. It was delicious. It was duck marinated in an orange sauce, with a slice of orange also. It was probably my favorite meal on the boat. For dessert, we had the "Flaming Baked Alaska." It was an ice cream mound, with marshmallow all over and then a graham cracker crust. It was also really good. When the waiters brought it out, the whole thing was lit on fire, so the dining room looked really neat. After dinner, we went to see the evening performance. After that, we played charades on the top deck. I went back down to the room and then grabbed my journal to get caught up on all of the events.
