Today after our classes, we loaded up onto the bus and headed to Glyfada, which is a suburb of Athens. We took the scenic route there, so we drove along the coast for about 1 hour to get there. The Myhans took us there to show us another place we can go and hang out on free days. There are American restaurants like Applebee's and TGIFridays. There are also several movie theaters and a bowling ally. For the girls, there are some great shopping places.

When we got there, Mandy and I didn't feel like going shopping, so we hung out with all the boys, Jacob, Jared, Jeremy, Alex, Nathan W, Nathan M, and Sean. We walked around the entire downtown area, hopping into stores here and there. We went into a Nike Sports store, which was very different. I am used to seeing a lot of basketball stuff when you go into a sports store; instead we saw a lot of soccer things. We got bored pretty quickly from walking around. We got there around 3:00pm and we weren't leaving until 9:30pm. A group of people were going to go bowling at 7 but we really didn't feel like sitting around doing nothing for three hours. So we decided to go bowling then. It was so much fun. Nathan M., Mandy, Jeremy, Nathan W, and I bowled two games there. The ally was very different from American allies. It was on the second floor of a building and had lanes above us also. I wasn't going to bowl, because I am so horrible at bowling, but I had a great time. I got a 113 the first game and an 88 the second game. I had so much fun. It was nice just to relax and goof around for the afternoon.

After bowling, we decided to go and eat. Bowling Girls

We didn't feel like eating at the American restaurants, cause we are in Greece, and we are only here once. We went to this amazing pasta place, called Pasta Viva. Jeremy, Nathan M, Sean, Nathan W, Mandy, Heather, Alex and I, all went out to eat together. Since we had so much time, we decided to be Greek and sit around for three hours in the restraint talking. The pasta was great and cheap. All the dishes were under 4.50 Euro. I had baked four-cheese pasta which was amazing. In Greece, to sit down at a table and eat, you have to pay a cover charge; ours was really cheap, so we all ate for 6 or less. I enjoyed sitting around and talking to everyone and getting to them better. We told life stories and then dating history. It was so funny to hear about the guys horrible experiences with dating. We decided it was probably time to go since we had been there for so long, so we headed back to the main square.

We saw the entire group over at Starbucks just waiting to go to Gelatos' for ice-cream. We were the last ones to show up, even though we weren't suppose to meet for another hour. So we went over to Gelato's and had some great ice cream. I had a vanilla with chocolate chunks and hot fudge sauce in it. It was so good, I have found my favorite ice-cream place here (and we found it in the Plaka, so I am good to go now.) It was fun eating ice cream and talking to everyone about their days. It seemed that we had the best day, because we did more then shop, so a lot of people were jealous of us. They also all went to Applebee's and hated it. They said they would never eat at a American place in a foreign country again.

Our bus came early which was really nice, so we got to go home early. We left Glyfada around 9:00pm and got back to the Artemis around 9:30 or so. It ended up being a really good trip, and I am glad that they took us there. We are thinking about going back sometime, just to eat at Pasta Viva again!!
