My sister, age 10, wrote:
In the morning I felt pretty good but couldn't eat half of my breakfast. Afterward Mom and Dad went to church but left us behind. When they got back I told them that I wasn't feeling good. They said I probably had some of the flu Ardie had so I took some medicine and then I felt better. We goofed around until Mom and Dad came back then we were invited to a party on a opening beach. When we got there we sat down and talked. Ardie handed me a piece of wood and I started carving a canoe. Then we were told to eat so we did. Afterward we played cards until bedtime.
