Another gorgeous day - except that the wind is up again. We had a real breakfast, then went ashore to hike up to the lighthouse. Red and while stripes on the outside, all pink and green handrails on the inside. Beautiful view of Elbow Cay and surroundings from the top. We could see white caps on the Sea of Abaco - but decided to leave Hope Town anyway.
Sea was very bumpy. Part way through our route, we decided to change destinations to the less-exposed Treasure Cay. Arrived around 4pm - only one other boat in anchorage. Not a very attractive harbour, but it will be sheltered.
The weather has turned cold - for the Bahamas. But after all day in the stiff wind (esp after motoring into a stiff headwind), we were all a bit chilled. Mum was so chilled, she elected to say on board instead of dinghy-ing into Treasure Cay for dinner. The rest of us made the journey - only to discover that the restaurant at the resort was "closed for the winter" -which really makes no sense as that's the "season" here. They were serving pizza and other grill food. We ordered two pizzas and a couple of salads. All was very mediocre.
Dinghied back, then spent the rest of the evening doing email. (I had read in the cruising guide that most of the anchorages/marinas from Green Turtle to Tilloo were hot spots - so we found the provide the guide named and bought Internet access for the rest of the week.)
Cold tonight. I dug out a wood sweater from my "Boston" bag for Kyla - and my long rain coast for myself - as extra blankets. Not going to sleep cold if I can help it.
