Met up with the kids, had breakfast, then we all took the Picadilly Line to Knightsbridge. It is a gorgeous day here in London. We walked immediately into Hyde Park, wandering along the water with the rest of the tourists. Decided to rest on the grass at the Princess Di Memorial Fountain. Fell asleep in the sun. Lovely.

Met Allison and her family in a restaurant in Harvey Nichols - Japanese noodle. It was tasty - but noisy - though we did manage to have a nice conversation. After lunch, we all walked in Hyde Park for a bit - and watched a dog go for a swim in a very mucky fountain. Funny. Then, they headed for home. We walked a bit more, briefly browsed Harvey Nicks (looking more for a loo than anything else), then took the tube back to Heathrow. No problem checking in - got our first class seats all together - no problem through security. Back to the Star Alliance Lounge for drinks and a shower (felt so good!). Flight on time to Cape Town.

I have decided I really like the super-long layover between two super-long flights ... really breaks up the boredom, and, in this case, provides us with two over-night flights where we can just sleep and awake, more or less adjusted to the time change.
