After breakfast, drove up to Mammoth Caves. Bought tickets for a tour, then took a brief walk. The cave tour was interesting: Mammoth Cave is not wet -- it's a dry limestone cave. Huge rotunda entrance room. Saw a few remnants of mining operations and Indian artifacts. Not many formations -- virtually none, in fact (as it is a dry cave). Squeezed through "Fat Man's Misery". Big climb up a staircase. Tower at end. Good tour.
Took another walk above ground. Exhausted. Had lunch but were scared away by a bunch of noisy school kids.
Drove to Shakertown. Stopped on the way at the Perrysville Battle Site. Wandered around Shakertown. Had a good very filling dinner at hotel. Then another walk.
