On march 1st we left our hammock hotel in Puerto Viejo and headed south for Panama. The trip took all day but was made easy because we were travelling with a really cool group of two other american guys (Shaun and Jesse), an english girl (Sity), and two argentinian girls (Rocio and Dani). The seven of us crossed over into Panama and took a water taxi to the island archapelago of Bocas del Toro. The main island (where we are now) didnt have any accomodations left so we took another boat to the smaller and much more isolated Isla Bastamentos. We found some rooms and dispite the lack of constant running water were able to cook a big meal for everyone and hang out all night. The next day we hired a boat to give us an all day tour of the surrounding islands. We went dolphin watching, snorkeling, had lunch on a deserted island, and did some fishing. It was a great day and the whole area is beautiful. Yesterday we hiked across the island to a beach on the other side and spent the day there hanging out and swimming. This morning we returned to the main town (with 5000 people) where we are spending the day before heading back to the mainland tomorrow. We have had a blast the last few days and it makes you realize that the people you are with can make any experience even better. Pictures to come soon I hope.
