We started off today as a group divided. The kids ( all of them !) went off to the Magic Kingdom and the grown ups enjoyed some pool time and relaxation. Ahhhhhh! We met up at our first fast pass - The Voyage of the Little Mermaid in the new Fantasyland. The girls seemed to enjoy it and the boys , of course, were bored by it. I have to say the new areas of Fantasyland are very beautifully constructed and realistic. The next stop was a Disney must for us, It's a Small World.
It is dated and repetitive bit it wouldn't be a trip to the magic kingdom without seeing all of those little dolls dancing in time to a song that plays in your head all day! It's one of those things you just have to do!
I was very excited for our dinner at the Be Our Guest Restaurant and it did not disappoint. The setting is amazing, we were in the the Rose Gallery and it was beautiful . Although it was a large room, it was surprisingly quiet and not filled to capacity. Our server,Curt, explained that they do not fill it as it overwhelms the kitchen and slows down service. The food came out perfectly timed and was delicious! The beast made an appearance and at the end we were able to get photos with him.
We left there and headed off to splash mountain( fast pass) , I passed on it as I had just eaten and was not in the mood for that big drop! Then Big thunder mountain! The park was very busy and we decided to try and wait for the new Seven Dwarfs Mine train rollercoaster. It was over an hour wait but it was new and everyone wanted to try it. It was fun but felt too short. We parted ways as some wanted to hit space mountain ( robbie, Jonathan, Bailey, Emma, Madi, Joe and Rob) and some wanted to visit the princesses ( Cara, molly, Sarah )and another group( Carey, Jenna and me) wanted to try the enchanted tales with Belle. It was getting late and the park would be closing soon so we all wanted to squeeze in one more thing.
Well, Space Mountain was so long they decided not to go, so Bailey set out to find the rest of the graduates. My group stopped to look at the Celebration show on the castle and we bumped into the Joe, Rob and the kids. Jenna and I stayed for fireworks while the rest returned back to the resort. The fireworks were amazing and we right under Tinker Bell as she sailed across the park- what a brave soul!
Apparently, at some point during the fireworks set up Molly became separated from Cara and Sarah. Meanwhile , Bailey is still searching the park for anyone- he went to the princess tent and the enchanted tales with belle but no one was to be found! I was a bit nervous when Cara told me they were separated but they all know there way back so I hoped ( and prayed a bit) they would all be ok. To add to the confusion of it all, it was the end of the day and almost everyone's phone was out of juice. Jenna and I headed to the bus stop and received a call from Molly so we told her to head for the bus. We all made it back safely and within 30 minutes of each other, exhaust but full of stories to tell. There were a lot of laughs and then everybody crashed.
Tomorrow EPCOT!
