More fun stuff today! We headed out early and met the Good Times Catamaran right on the beach across the street from our villa. It was a nice size boat but it only hosts small groups so it was perfect. There were only 2 other groups on board, one couple from California and a group of 5 from England traveling for a wedding. So twelve in all and the future bride and groom were in the group as well. There was A crew of 3: Dwight, Lester and the captain, Chad.
The sun was shining as we set off for our first destination, an area known for sea turtles. They are green sea turtles and they tend to frequent the area because this is where the fishermen dumped their chum for years. The tour groups kept up with the feeding and now they don't mind the people swimming among them. Dwight was the turtle whisperer and was good at attracting them. Robbie caught on to the action quick and stuck close to Dwight and was able to touch them multiple times. All of us were able to but Robbie most of all. Jenna was a little freaked out but managed not to panic too much
Next we moved on to a sunken barge that is now home to a coral reef and many beautiful fish. This time Lester led the way explaining the different types of coral and sea life as we swam along. Again, Jenna was a bit frightened but toughed it out and ended up enjoying herself. The water was warm and the fish plentiful as well as colorful. Rob manned the camera and took some good shots which I will attach.
Robbie helped pull the anchor and hoist the sail as we sailed onto a secluded beach, away.from the crowds. He also watched as they set a line hoping to catch their dinner. They served a fabulous lunch of chicken , fish, pasta, rice, and salads. The drinks were plentiful and cold. There was a quick rain shower then back to the sun again. We hopped into the warm sea and splashed around for a while, swimming to shore and back to the boat. We returned to the spot we left from just as the clouds rolled in.
We spent some time in our pool, even though it started raining lightly then hit the showers.I snuck in a nap on the chaise lounge out side. We were all pretty exhausted by our day at sea so we decided to eat in, watch a movie and get some sleep.
