We had no problem getting on the first ride and had fun but the lines for everything after this were 85 minutes and up so we caved and bought the express pass- gone was another $350! It did work nicely and we waited maybe 5-10 minutes for each attraction
We had so much fun on the Jurassic Park Ride then hit a log flume, which was too steep for me, so I passed. Next we jumped on a raft ride. Well, let me tell you it was a fun but costly error. We got drenched to the skin. There was not a dry article of clothing on anyone from shirts to shoes and everything in between! I had to buy dry shorts for all of my kids since they were wearing fabric that wouldn't dry quickly and a pair of flip flops for Robbie since you could ring his sneakers out.
We even tried the people dryer( imagine a human sized hand drier you stand in) for an additional $5!!!!
Soggy but definitely cooler we visited Spiderman. The ride had a bit of a glitch in the middle and stopped briefly so they let us move to the front of the line for another turn. Cara, Rob and Joe braved the scary Hulk Coaster you couldn't pay me enough to get on that thing! Then we switched over to Universal Studios for a while and had fun seeing Terminator 2-3D, which Emma deemed inappropriate for herself. She is too funny ! We saw a number of attractions here but my favorite was The Mummy ride. It has a great surprise ending!
Next was the highlight for the day- third row seats for The Blue Man Group. What an amazing show! Everyone absolutely loved it. We watched one catch 12 large marshmallows in his mouth, without spitting any out( not sure how, but it was so funny!)
After leaving the show on a high note at 8:00 we headed over to Harry Potter. Emma and Carey headed to the Dr. Seuss area where she had a blast getting on rides over and over. I am so glad she had a good time.
The whole Harry Potter area is amazingly realistic. The streets, building and stores are exactly like the movie. Cara was so psyched for the ride and then wanted to grab a frozen butter beer. The ride stated a 60 minute wait so we hopped in line(since the express passes do not work for this attraction-rip off!). The line moved quickly and a lot of it is inside the Hogwarts building so we enjoyed the talking pictures, cool statues and just the general atmosphere. Before we knew it was our turn. Since we were 7 people they split us into groups of 3 and 4. Cara, Robbie and I got on first. We were seated and buckled for literally 1 minute when disaster struck. The ride stopped!! We stayed in our seats for 20 -25 minutes or so then they took us off to say they would restart shortly, we waited another 20 minutes and then they announced the attraction would not be running anymore that night! Cara was devastated! Now it is 10:00 and the park is closing. I take he rover to get a butter beer and an employee steps in front of us and tells us its the end of the line. I thought we would both lose it at this point . An employee told us to go to guest services to see if they would do anything for us but by the time we got there the line was 50 deep. By now everyone is dead on their feet and exhausted, frustrated and more than a little angry we left. I am not sure, we may try to go back on Sunday. I will keep you updated....
