Where I stayed
Our next stop is Cheyenne,WY. It took us about 9 hours and 480 miles to reach it and we are still in the same state!!! We could have driven to upstate Maine or past Washington D.C. by now if we were on the east coast. The speed limit is 75mph and 65 in construction zones and I still saw someone get pulled over. The days are long here and it is still light at 10:00P.M..Southern Wyoming is very desolate and sparsely populated. The kids held up well despite the long travel day, thankfully. They have become good and patient travelers for the most part.
Cara napped in the back. I don't know how because it feels like your teeth can rattle out of your head when you are back there while the RV is in motion.Jenna finished her book for her summer reading assignment.Robbie watched a movie called Wind River
We had a couple of scares with the GWS today. Twice it seemed to down shift when not expected, both times we were traveling down hill and the cruise control was on. It was sort of scary because you are in the middle of nowhere, with no service stations in sight. We decided no more cruise control unless the highways are flat and straight, which should be the next 2 days of our journey.
We saw a lot of deer and big horn sheep today as well trains that went on forever. The longest one being 124 cars long with 3 engines! Not very exciting, I know but there is not much to report when driving long ,barren stretches like today.
The campground is nice and has a heated pool. The kids and Rob hopped in while I prepped dinner( It was blissfully quiet so I didn't mind).Going to end the day with a movie. Back on the road tomorrow.Nebraska here we come.
