We wasted about an hour sitting in traffic.
I really like Wisconsin. The terrain is so diverse. There are rolling green hills, flat prairies and farms, small mountains and cool rock formations.Wiscinsin Dells is a large tourist area. It sort of reminded me of Wildwood but without the beach, a lot of amusement/waterparks, tacky shops and junk food. Much to our kids dismay we opted to skip the waterparks and instead spend some time on the Wisconsin River, seeing the Dells which are unique . We decided on the Duck tour and then added a Jet boat to appease those who wanted to get wet(CARA)
On we went to the Jet boat. Cara was looking forward to this and was anxious to get cooled off by the sure-to-soak- you manuevers. The boat moved fast up to 60 mph!!. The manuevers were cool and certainly got everyone wet, everyone except Cara. Unfortunately, seated in front of Cara was the most enormous ,fat man ( easily 450lbs!) who acted like a wall shielding poor Cara from the much desired sprays of water. Rob and I could barely contain ourselves. I ,of course, got stuck on the end and got soaked to the skin while wearing a white t shirt!!
Robbie was still after us to go to an amusement/waterpark but understood when I explained to him that the point of this trip was to see things that make our country special and unique. He can be such a great kid ( when not driving us all crazy in the camper!!).
We headed off to the campground for a little swimming, dinner and hanging out We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire. After it was very dark, we were admiring the night sky and Jenna spotted both the big dipper and even better ,a shooing star.
As I was sitting by the fire, writing this entry, I thought it seemed like the perfect ending to a nice day
Oh well another day is done. We are off to Minnesota and the Mall of America. The girls can hardly contain themselves or their wallets!!
