Today started off great. We had pancakes for breakfast and headed out to see a bit more of the falls. We went on the Cave of the Winds tour, which is a walkway right at the base of the American Falls. What a blast!!! The kids loved it. We were completely soaked despite the provided attractive ponchos.(See Photos) You literally have the water washing up onto the decking, over your feet, legs and some raining down on you. It was so loud and windy you could not even speak, scream and yell yes, but no conversations. We were on the road by noon. Rob drove the first part, through New York and Pennsylvania.
Rob met a nice family yesterday at the Falls. They were RVing it as well. Well as we made our way out of the Niagara area we had to cross a bridge, as luck would have it, a van broke down in front of us in our lane. It is not easy to change lanes quickly when driving a 31 foot motor home( keep this thought in mind for later in this tale). As we were sitting there waiting, a RV stopped the traffic in the left lane and allowed us in. Guess who, Rob's buddies (Coincidence or stalking??) .
I took over the driving when we hit Ohio. I thought, "its Ohio How bad could it be?". Well I no sooner got going and the highway was reduced to one lane, Jersey barrier on one side, grass on the other!! It would have been nerve racking enough to drive it in my SUV,never mind an RV.
After the construction cleared, I was faced with rush hour traffic in Cleveland.(ugh!) Cara was my co pilot so the music was loud and I did not hear Lola( the GPS) speaking .I almost missed my exit but somehow managed to cross 3 lanes without injuring anyone and get on track. Rob almost had a heart atttack! He took over as co pilot after that.
Once past Cleveland it was smoooth sailing.
Ohio and Indiana are actually quite pretty, rolling hills, farms as far as you can see. The gas is as expensive out here as it is in Connecticut ,by the way
Robbie was getting a bit stir crazy but had fun getting truckers to honk their horns for him. The girls worked on their journals, read and texted, of course.. All in all it took us about 9 hours to get Indiana.
Boy I seem to have written a lot for a day spent driving. Will try to keep it shorter tomorrow. Off to Wisconsin!!

Hi, Guys. What an awesome trip. This will be a trip the kids remember for the rest of their lives. Some of our best and most vivid memories from childhood are when we went camping. Enjoy your selves and be safe. Roast a marshmallow for me...charcoled and on fire is the best. The blog is a great idea! Can't wait to see more pictures.
