It's me again. I just woke up and had to fight for internet time. It is our free day and I think I will be heading out to the reef with the group. Not too sure, its a little expensive. Just a heads up I will be leaving tomorrow morning for the Outback for about 5 days. Phone and internet will be hard to find, if at all. I stayed up last night with a few friends working on our modules that are due tomorrow morning. Finished! They are a bit time consuming but worth it.
Sorry I have not been very detailed on the things we have done so far. Its hard to keep up!
About the rainforest: Our tour guide is the new Steve Erwin. His name is Paul and I am glad to part ways with him. He knows EVERYTHING including the science behind things. Our night walks were about 4 hours long. It was great for the first 2. He will be on he Discovery channel soon. Next week he will be with BBC camera crew taking them around for three months. It is said to be aired later on. That should be interesting. I am excited because on the last day in the rainforest we got to see an extremely rare bird that is only found in Queensland Australia. It is called the Cassowary. It stands as tall as a human and has known to kill humans by clawing out your guts in one fast move then using its razor sharp head to cut you. Morbid but I am happy we saw one!!! I saw Australias largest snake when we were doing our service progject on the beach. We had to clean up micro trash, bc sea turtles are dying quickly from cigerette butts. One of the girls from the group found it and Paul (Steve Erwin) picked it up like it was nothing.
Ok I gotta go my time is running out. I will write again when I can!
