Landed JKIA 6.30 AM and Marto the poser who was to pick us up was no where to be found. We later found out that he blacked out at the car park having come to the air port at 5 AM after an all night buggy in Nairobi. Cut the long story short we picked a taxi to from the air port.
Nairobi stop over is alway exciting, only difference this time is I am married to Liz and therefore she cannot go to her parents place - this creates a little complexity - because apart from the fact that I can now not lodge around with other bachelor friends (Mark ago B&B) I have to make a plan for Liz's accommodation.
Never the less after spending one night at the UK club, my friend Bonnie was kind enough to offer his extra room which we gladly;y accepted.
Normally after the long night flight from Lagos to Nairobi, one has a mixed feeling of both fatigue and and absurd excitement. Fatigue of course because most of the night is sleepless and excitement because we are back home - kind funny because IO have not lived in Nairobi for 7 years now and still feels home more than anywhere else I have been.
The first day begins with a huge Java breakfast which we had with Toma (we gave him a wake up call from the airport car pack soon after we settled into the Taxi).
Usually Nairobi stay is characterized with a lot of Golf sessions with all kind of beets with Markago. Not different this time - we played 18 holes at the Rift Valley club on Sunday the 8th of April team competion with contentious results. I was paired with Toma while Markago paired with Liaz. Toma constantly complained that I was hedging the game, either was the proceeds would go to the family. In the end it was a contentious tie but was clear that one to one I had given markago a through beating - for a once in along time.
