Another day on the road. Left the Wigwam around 9:00am. Arizona doesn't participate in daylight savings time so we are basically Pacific time zone now. Our first stop today was another historic roadside attraction, the Jackrabbit ranch. Our travel buddy, Fred, wanted his picture taken with the old sign stating "HERE IT IS". We bought a decent size of petrified wood here for $9.00 along with some other things. From there we headed to Winslow Arizona. They have a corner here that you can stand at, and wait for a girl, my Lord, in a flat bed Ford to look at you. It was hot and I got tired of waiting. After that we went to the Meteor Crater. This is the best preserved impact crater on the planet. We took some pictures and went through the museum there. This was the first day the truck reported the outside temp over 100. After that we went through Flagstaff after stopping at the JC Penny there for a swim suit and some shorts for Erin. We officially have left Route 66 now. We had some great mountain driving from Sedona to Prescott Valley Arizona. There is this little town at about 7000 feet on the side of a mountain called Jerome. The town consists of about 9 hairpin turns with corners of houses about a foot from your rear view mirror. After that we arrived in Prescott Valley and then Prescott. Prescott is a great little town with a bustling nightlife. There are about 8 bars on a stretch of road known as Whiskey Row. Wyatt Earp and his brothers were customers of one that is still standing today called The Palace Saloon.
