Toady we started at the Gateway Arch. It was a beautiful sunny day and the view from the Arch was amazing. The pod you ride up to the top in is not the most fun I ever had. We picked up Route 66 outside of St. Louis and hopped on and off of it throughout the day. So far this drive down Route 66 has been awesome. We saw a town today that has murals painted on all the buildings. We also drove some hilly twisty divided two lane Route 66. It looked funny having a two lane divided highway through the hills totally empty (except for me). We also saw a new Route 66 icon, a giant rocking chair that was finished in April of 2008. We stopped and chatted with Gary at Paris Springs Junction for about an hour. He told us where we can meet some of the people that characters from the movie Cars are based on. He is really great and I will always remember the time we spent there. Tomorrow is Kansas (15 miles) and Oklahoma.
