Oy! from Rio de Janeiro
We all made it safely to Rio last Tuesday morning around 8am after flying all night. Although we were tired, it didn't stop us from enjoying the amazing beauty of Brazil. Our contact Abel met us at the airport and took us back to one of the churches he has helped plant here in Rio. I speak for all of us when I say that Abel is truly a man after God's own heart. He has shown all of us a faith not often seen back in the states.
On Wednesday, we visited another church and were able to express our thanks and the encouragement the believers here in Rio have given us with Abel helping translate our words into portuguese. The congregation we are spending time with has given up all they have to make us feel as comfortable as possible during our stay here
We have also had a chance to a do a little bit of sight seeing. We have visited a place called Sugar Loaf. These are a couple of hills that overlook the city. Some of the notable sights that can be viewed from this point are the famous Copacabana and the Christ Statue. We also got to go to the beach one afternoon. The beaches of Brazil are truly amazing.
The last couple of days we have played soccer in the mornings with the local kids. They were a little shy at first, but before long we had a lot of kids playing soccer with us. It wasnīt just kids that got involoved. Lots of people walking by would stop and watch. I donīt know if they were impressed with how good we were or laughing at how bad we are. It doesnīt matter to me. We got some attention.
Tonight we had a chance to go into the poorest neighborhoods in Rio. The streets were very narrow and cluddered with people
Please remember to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we will be traveling to Asuncion, Paraguay on Monday. Also, Iīm sorry that it is taking so long to update the blog. We have literally been too busy. Thanks for the patience.
God Bless,

. From feeding us delicious food to giving us a nice place to sleep, the Christians here are truly servants and we are probably encouraged more by them than they are by us. I will try to post pictures as soon as possible. Thank you all for your prayers and support. God Bless. We have also had a chance to a do a little bit of sight seeing. . Abel took us to several different locations in the neighborhood so that we could sing songs for the people there. The kids in the neighborhood particularly like when we would sing songs for them. Some of their favorites were: Father Abraham, This Little Light of Mine, and If You Love Jesus. I think they were amazed to see a bunch of people our age acting like they would. Please remember to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we will be traveling to Asuncion, Paraguay on Monday.
