Today my mother flew into London for a visit from Canada! After a horrible overnight coach from Edinburgh to London on Megabus (a very cheap, uncomfortable coachline) I was happy to arrive in London Victoria to get off the bus and stretch my legs! I was crammed in my window seat with an aussie beside me using me as a pillow. Needless to say he didn't like me much as I woke him every ten minutes to get his weight off of me and to push his head to the other side! But oh well, made it to Heathrow to greet my mother after her long flight!
Upon arrival we stayed in London for two nights to view a bit of the city before departing to Scotland. We toured the Thames River area near the London Bridge and toured the London Tower while going for a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant.
We went for a sight seeing tour on the Thursday
For a surprise gift for my mom's birthday I got her tickets to the Lion King Musical at the Lyceum Theatre. It was a fantastic show and we were lucky enough to only miss five minutes! Of course we were running a little late and left our hotel only an hour before the opening time of the musical! When we gott off the tube I was totally lost and was asking for directions! We had seen the theatre during the day on our bus tour but do you think we could find it at night?! Lucky for us we found a very nice gentleman who looked up the directions on his handheld device and we found it within about 10 minutes! As we arrived we weren't the only ones who weren't late and we made it with only about five minuted in to the show. It was just too bad that my feet were bleeding from my shoes because they weren't running shoes!
After the show I treated my mom to a nice birthday dinner at another Italian restaurant. Of course more excellent food! After that ready for a good night's sleep as it was another megabus ride back to Edinburgh!

. Saw quite a few tourist locations but didn't have the time to stop and see them! We wanted to go to Buckingham Palace the most so we waited until we hit there and got off the bus. Much to our disappointment we decied to view the outside of the Palace before entering it and when we came to the admission line it was closed! We missed it by about ten minutes and didn't have another day to see it. Unfortunate for my mom as I have another day to come back while it was her only chance. Unless she comes back next year for a visit! For a surprise gift for my mom's birthday I got her tickets to the Lion King Musical at the Lyceum Theatre.
