Sorry for the long wait on an update but as I say in every blog....work has been crazy! I have to say that I will never do this waitressing job again after my UK visa is done. Back home in Canada I never worked in a restaurant and it is hard work! It is very demanding and there are alot of cranky customers who are never satisfied! Five more weeks and then off for travels for at least five weeks to France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. After my travels though I have worked it out with my current employer and I will be coming back to work the same job for another three to four weeks. I was thinking that during my travels I will spend all of my hard earned money so I should come back to make a bit more and then arrange a new job in England. I want to work in both areas and I know I won't want to arrange everything while on holidays!
So in five weeks it is now confirmed that my mother will be flying over and I will be taking her on a journey around the United Kingdom. Of course she wants to spend most of the time Scotland but I have a few things lined up for London! Very excited! Of course I can't give any hints out so you will have to come back to read our travel blog in September!
What else is new........I went to Glasgow yesterday for a bit of shopping! The city is packed with tons of shops but I only had time for Argyle Street and the one mall I can't remember the name of....ST. something?! Anyway, I was good and only bought what I needed. A pair of good work shoes and a pair of jeans. I could have spent alot of money but I would rather spend it on travels! My clothes are all getting a bit big now (yippee!) as I mentioned how hard of work it is waitressing! I guess that's a plus for the job. I will either be sending stuff home with my mom or giving it away to whoever wants it here. My backpack won't be able to fit everything and I'm too cheap to send it home!
Not too many news this way as I do the same things everyday but with new people. That's another bonus about my job is all of the tourists I have met. When it's not too busy I love talking to them which is funny because when I mention that to coworkers they say 'yes you do Laura'! But it's all fun. I get to hear about other countries I would be fascinated to go and see that I haven't heard alot about. Hopefully I will get to see as much as I can in my life. As long as I keep my health and am able to work hard for my travel money that's all I ask for!
