Yesterday was the Melbourne Cup day and I am happy to say a few of us went to the Crown to watch and bet a few dollars and I won!  Not that I bet alot of money and won alot of money but hey, a win is a win!  With only 15 minutes left before the race was on and after a bit too long of a wait to bet we were in a bit of a panic with all of the other last-minute betters who were trying to figure out which race card to use, how to use it and a pen to write with!  One gentleman finally found the sheets and handed them to us and told us how to write them and off we were to the betting queues!  Having no idea which horse was which I just scribbled down '5 both ways' for horse #4 and horse #9.  Just a couple of luck y numbers I was hoping.

Watching the 2 minute race is amazing!  And we were in the casino not at the actual race!  Everyone screaming and yelling for their horse to win when in the final 10 seconds after one horse is in the lead with quite a distance a bullet comes running and catched up with the lead horse.  There were literally only millimeters distance between the two horses at the finish line and but the lead horse was the true winner.  It was a horse by the name of 'Viewed' and no one had ever heard of it before.  Good for 'Viewed' and which ever the second horse was.  What I was happy with is that my lucky #4 horse from France came in third!  With my lucky $5 I came out with a $40 payout!  I wish I would have walked out with hundreds of thousands other people were but hey, Ièm a cheap gambler!  Either way I won 8x what I bet!

All in all it was fun to watch.  The people dressed looked so good and while out to dinner near a window seat we could see all of the dressed up people walking by.  It was fantastic!

Other than that no jobs yet with the exception of fruit picking!  I am so bored and the recruiting agencies are saying it can take at least a month or longer for my positions but I don't know if I can be patient enough for that much longer!  It's hard to be here looking for a job as you don't want to spend all of your money so you don't go out to do anything but walk around looking for toher job postings.  Hopefully soon enough I will have a job but I think I may be pointing in the direction of the outback now as there are no jobs availbale in the cities!

The photos added were from this past Saturday night at I forget the pubs name!  It was supposed to be an early night and of course those nights turn out to be late nights!  It was a full night dancing to a good band and meeting a bunch of fun people.  Of course we didn't get home until 4am and had to get up by 7am to get ready for a 2 year olds party!  Yes we should have been thinking when we knew we had to be up early but hey, we made it to the party and had fun both night and day!  Just a little tired!
