ad: well in the last few days weve done a few random things in arequipa.

first we went to a museum, yeah, another one (strictly culture is our middle name), and visited a girl called juanita, she is a 500 yeah old ice mummy, that was found on top of a volcano just up the road in 1995. there was all sorts of artifacts and stuff that had been preserved perfectly in the ice, including juanita herself who we saw in a glass fridge, still with skin, hair everything, just a bit mouldy since she is over 500!!

then that nite we got the deal of the year from burger king, 2 whoppers, 2 chicken burgers, 2 fries, 2 apple pies and salad all for just 4 pound, and the best thing they deliver to the door!!!!!!

at 1 am that nite we got picked up for our trip to colca canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world, twice as deep as the grand canyon. we then had the bumpiest 5 hr coach journey through the nite, rob managed a couple of hrs sleep but i didnt sleep the whole nite, which was good preperation for a trek!!

we had breakfast and started walkin at 8am, walked down to an oasis at the bottom of the canyon, we had done a desert oasis, now we found a mountain one!!

we played in the pool and the hot springs then went to bed in our little shack at 7pm!!

we got up at 2.15 am and started trekking back up out of the canyon, in the pitch black, no torch, strictly extreme by the moonlight, its about 1000 metres, and pretty much straight up, looking back more than a little dangerous!!

made it back just as the sun was coming up at around 6, then after breakfast made the trip back, on the way it was 5 hrs, the same route home seemed to take 8!!

we treated ourselves to a family pizza each, for a whopping 3 pound, again home delivery, a few drinks and then finally to bed at 11pm. pretty bloody tired!!
