Belfast
Entry 5 of 29 | show all | print this entry |
Tonight, we are in Belfast. After a half hour presentation by a classmate about 'The Troubles', we were given a dire warning about how Furman students on previous foreign studies had been mugged, so travel in groups and have a nice time at dinner. Myself and four companions, carrying our umbrellas as truncheons, mustered out to a pizza place down the street. Awesome. Tomorrow, the plan is to take a tour through some of the traditionally catholic and protestant neighborhoods. The only issue with this, according to Dr. Cummins, is that our bus has a label from County Cork on it (which it does) and apparently he thinks this will be a problem in the Catholic neighborhoods. Brilliant!
