Hosted today by the Rotary Club of Beets Edam Zeevang, we were picked up by Wil van Stralen and Thijs van Gijn. First destination was the old church in Oosthuizen. The church was built in the 1500s, including its historic organ from 1521. The organ plays only three octaves and has seven stops. Adrian was invited to play the organ and managed a few bars of Billy Joel, Johann Sebastian Bach, and some organ-appropriate chords. The acoustics were fabulous.

From there we drove to the home of architect Henri Leloup, a farmhouse about five minutes drive from the church (delayed by another five minutes as we waited for sheep to cross the road). Henri works on a variety of building styles, both residential and commercial. One of his current jobs is a series of houses and apartments in a traditional Dutch style located in Landsmeer where we visited in our first week in Holland. Henri also gave us a presentation in his home cinema about Dutch buildings and farms.
