I'M COMPLETELY DUCKED, WORLD RECORD NUMBER OF PHOTOS and A FINAL CHEESY SONG

TO CLOSE THE SHOW

Up at 5am for the 40km trek to Xi'An airport. Its drizzling persistantly
which seems to be the way of the world here in central China. Out in the
street there's hardly any traffic, but I do find a cheapie cab (a Suzuki
about the size of a can of tinned ham) and we're off. Thankfully it can only

go at 80kph in this weather, though the driver is trying his hardest to kill

us on corners anyway.

The first leg of the day's mighty trek is from Xi'An to Beijing.
Unfortunately we arrived a little late so it meant I was stuck at Beijing
airport with a 3 hour wait, rather than the little longer needed so I could
have gone into town for a wander. The second leg was Jingers to Honkers.
They served duck on the plane! I'm completely ducked now. I arrived in 33
degree sunshine, having survived 4 flights on Air China. I won't take a
fifth as I'm sure if you keep on playing Russian Roullette you'll eventually

lose. Actually its a good airline - better than it was in the 70s as I
understand it.

I checked into my hotel by 6pm and was out checking 26 rolls of film for
processing at a cheap deal. It means I have to carry home a bucket load of
photos, but it was about a third cheaper than at home, so worth it.

I caught the train over to HK island for one last time, and headed up to
Soho, a hip part of town in the mid lands as they call it, part of the way
up the mountains. I had vegetarian Mexican fajitas in an Italian restaurant
in Soho. They had Foster's on tap but I couldn't do it as we all know the
reason why we export it - its because it tastes like Cat's pee.... instead I

had Heineken. A nice way to end my final night in Asia - eating and drinking

nothing with an Asian influence!

Its bon voyage to Honkers island via the Star Ferry home to Kowloon. I
walked back through Tsim Sha Tsui to the hotel, stopping at Circle K to get
some water. They were playing a cheesy version of "Its A Small World After
All". That probably means its time to go home......
