Our show was in a northern suburb of Chicago, Rosemont, today. And I got to see Laura, my wonderful friend from Purdue, who now lives in Chicago. We just got away for coffee as she was finishing her work day and I had a bit of free time after getting prelim numbers in and waiting for finals. That was my highlight.
Then came the opposite end of the spectrum. The BO mgr decided it was normal business to immediately raise his voice at me when I asked him about a particular scenario (a scenario that we have with most of our shows, no less. Nothing new here!). Even my production rep was fairly stunned and just stared after him when he left. When I had to go find him to discuss the same thing and try to get a bit more information out of him, he was full on yelling. I yelled back for awhile, then just walked out. Came back later, then the asst (who was being yelled at earlier by the same guy), decided he could yell at me, as well. Wanted to say to the other employees around, this must be an absolutely miserable place to work. He even said to me, "you won't win this game." I simply said "this isn't a game" with as much as tired disdain I could muster and walked out. I completely didn't expect an apology but one did come from the BO mgr near the end of the evening. AND the thing they were arguing about, they said they'd cover the costs then since they were so sure they were right (and didn't want me to have my way). I've since received a phone call from them...99% sure they are now wanting to recall their decision!?!!! All of that for them to revert to exactly what I was asking for in the first place!! I go back there for a second show in Dec. :P
Also got results from my last pap and have to have another biopsy. :( They recommend getting it done by Nov so I guess my days off in Reading, PA are going to come in handy for something. Appreciate your prayers and thoughts on that end.
