What a morning!! We have a buffet breakfast for just 2e an all you can eat affair, before Fergus's tailor arrives at the hotel with his shirt finished. We stop at a nearby shop to collect our shirts and jacket (two out of three are ready) before we take a moped into town.
Ad has to get a third fitting on a suit made at Yaly's which is now complete (happy out) but we need extra pockets put on Fergus's shirts. On route to the shoe-makers we browse in the nearby market stalls, haggling over some t-shirts and leather belts!!
Fergus ordered a pair of leather shoes last night (10pm) and scheduled a shoe-fitting/collection this morning at 9am, but its not far off 10am now. At this point we get slightly separated. While Fergus is occupied with his shoes Ad orders two pairs of work shoes to be made and delivered to the hotel for 11.45am this morning!! As usual we state if we're not happy, we're not paying , so if there is too much of a time constraint they don't need to be done!!
Deliighted with his shoes Fergus takes a moped back to the hotel to collect our excess luggage and onward to visit the post offic. Meanwhile I take a second moped around town, collecting extra buttons for shirts, collecting last minute items and paying bills!!
We reconvene at the post office where there are five detailed forms (each) to be completed before we are given a box to send home our bits and bobs. Once we have our forms completed the girl takes each form, and one by one goes through each item being put into the box. She wont' allow our CD's or DVD's for some reason but everything else is ok. To prove we are just sending home cd covers we have to bend the paper! We send home 18kgs of gear for just 40e.
Its now almost midday and we take a couple of mopeds back to the hotel, pack and jump in the waiting taxi to be dropped off at the airport (40 minutes away).
We have booked two seats on a 2pm flight to Na Thrang with Vietnam Airlines. We touch down at 3pm and take a bus into town ($2). As usual we are encouraged to check out the mini-buses preferred hotel, but we insist we've made reservations elsewhere (not entirely true) and wish to be dropped off there.
We check into the Perfume Grass Inn for $5pp (including breakfast, internet etc). Na Thrang is a very small coastal town. We have a good roast beef dinner in The Shamrock Pub before taking a foot tour of the town.
We make enquiries about our Cambodian visa's, but get so many differing opinions/prices and information we don't actually know whats what!
