After a leisurely morning (its raining again today), including an Irish fry up with a New Zealand twist... mussel sausages - delicious!! We hit the road for Matamata, or Hobbitown as it is famously known as.

Tours of the set of "Lord Of The Rings" are available. We had originally planned on taking one but the duration of 2.5 hours and the fact that neither of us have seen any of the trilogy, means we decline taking part.

We drive across westwards across the countryside, the resemblence to Ireland is uncanny. Green rolling hills, drizzle, the fabulous roads and small villages.
