We are getting to enjoy the leisurely sleep-ins and relazing days! We ate lunch in the presence of a dozen odd pigeons at the central city arts and crafts market. Afterwards we make some enquiries into buying a car.... nothing in stone yet.
We take a party bus down to Eden Park where we luckily get two tickets to see New Zealand V Australia in the Tri Nations decider. Its a sold out affair, although its not a huge stadium. Pre match entertainment starts in the car park, where people have BBQ's/drinks etc in their car trunks - American-style. Crowds are milling around. Inside the stadium, its NZ's 400 test match and officials have prepared a lights exhibition, gymnasts and dancers, its very entertaining.
Its a close match which NZ win 34-24... Australia are in a bad patch at the moment and have lost 5 consequtive games. We meet up with some friendly Kiwi's who show us the hotspots of Auckland, amongst which they off their NZ rugby hats (see photo's). We end up in a Kiwi bar "Cock and Bull" where an excellent cover band entertain a crowd into the wee hours.
