Day 40

Today was mostly about driving, but there was one brief stop for me in the morning. A few years back I read a biography on Howard Hughes and swore if I was ever near Portland I wanted to see the Spruce Goose. In case you don't remember, it was a huge airplane that was developed by Hughes for use during World War 2. It was not finished in time for the war and only flew one time for a test, but it really is an amazing piece of aviation history. So, Adeana and Ethan decided to sleep in while I went and hit the museum. It was pretty cool. The thing is just gigantic and made almost totally out of birch. It was pretty hard to take pictures of because of its size, but I did a few composite pictures. After that, it was a pretty full day of driving. We wanted to get from Portland down to San Francisco, no big plans in SF this time, we're just trying to work our way south back down to LA to check out a couple more things this weekend. One picture of a beautiful snow capped mountain as well. Oh, and we figured out what Mark Nelson does to make the big bucks :-)
