Day 26

We've got two or three days in LA to check out the town. This is another city high on our list places to live. Well, it is for me anyways, I'm wasn't sure if Adeana would love it or not. Tomorrow we're going to hang with a friend of mine to get a feel for the different cities, but today we just took in some familiar sites and had some fun. We had been promising Ethan that when Monsters Vs Aliens came out that we'd take him to see it. He's been talking about it practically the whole trip. I was really hoping to hit the Village in Westwood, but they didn't offer it in 3D, so we headed for the Arc Light theater in Hollywood. It is a very cool old theater that has been rennovated with all new sound, projection, and seating. And it was a nice theater, but man was it expensive. We went during what would normally be matinee, but they don't offer a matinee. Oh, and did I mention that admission in $13 a person, all that with concessions and parking and it was about $55 for the three of us. But, it was a good movie. We had a good time. On the way out we saw a cool record store that we had to stop in and see. It was call Amoeba. It was a huge store, filled with more CDs and DVDs that I think I had ever seen in one place. Next it was off to lunch. LA is so pricey that we're looking for some cheap gems while we're here. So, we headed for a hole in the wall Thai place. Some of the bet Thai I've ever had and my dish was $7.50. Awesome! After that we headed to Venice beach. Now, I had planned to show Ethan the crazy street performers there, but after a quick trip down the pier all he really wanted to do was hit the we did that until nightfall. He was happy, we were happy, it was all good. We had one more stop to make. Diddy Riese in Westwood. Justin showed me this place when we were here last year. It is a cookie and ice cream shop. You can get two homemade cookies with a scoop of Edys in the middle for $1.50. There is almost always a line out the door. It was a great treat. That was about it for the day. So far we love Westwood, but anxious to see some other places tomorrow!
