James and I hung around Lee and Diana's busy house for a couple of hours in the morning, admiring the order that reigned despite the fact that Diana claimed it was "more crazy than normal when it is just the 10 of us."
We eventually hit the road for another long day of driving. We continued north through Utah and then had the Idaho landscape (if that's what you call Idaho...) to gaze at for the next few (well it seemed like 100) hours. We drove and drove and drove only to see another rolling hill covered in a light brown grass. Driving through Boise did not exactly stir an attitude of amazement in us either. But, we made it through and entered Oregon. We drove along the highway of northern Oregon and watched the beautiful sunset God provided over the Columbia River as we...yes...continued driving.
Night fell and we made it to Portland rather late

With my cousin Olivia
. We needed to find Les' house which was nearby in Newberg. We drove to the neighborhood which seemed as if it really didn't believe in street lights. I guess that might make sense...seeing as it is out in the middle of nowhere where you can't see a thing without a light and there is only a small windy road with trees blocking all of the houses so you can't tell which house to go to. Nevertheless, we made it! That is, we made it to an empty farmhouse. It was about 11 PM and after calling without success, we decided we might just have to sleep in the truck, when alas, Les comes rolling into his driveway. We were shown our rooms and around the house and went to bed fairly soon to get ready for what was to come the next morning...our favorite...more driving! This entry was written after the trip was completed.
