By the time we flew back to Guangzhou, drove to the apartment, and ate dinner, it was late in the evening on 6/1.
Yesterday we had the whole day free so I was able to sleep in a little bit and catch up on email. Beibei and I walked around a little bit but it started raining so we waited around until 11 AM when we walked to Beibei's friend's house. They had been good friends when she lived in China so we stayed there about 45 min. After lunch one of the family friends brought a small keyboard so Beibei and I were able to play around on a keyboard for the first time since we've been here. Then Beibei and I went to walk around Guangzhou and shopped. There are many shops lining the streets and some lead into mall-like areas. There is also a huge electronic place that has about six large floors of electronics to buy. It is made up of individual owners selling their products so you can shop around for the best price and bargain with them. I bought a memory stick for 130 yen. I didn't find anything else in the other shops but Beibei found a few. I wanted the flash drive to load people's pictures.
Later when we got back from shopping, a bunch of Jason's friends and people that knew Beibei came over. There was about 20 people. There was a lot of food of which I mainly ate sticky rice. It was a table that we could take what we wanted and walk around so I didn't end up eating the things like chicken feet and sushi. I still ate some kind of chicken broth soup, pork, pork rib things, and duck or goose. They also used me for a joke too. One of the guys was about to walk in and he hadn't seen Beibei in many years. They told him that I was Beibei when he walked in and he looked completely shocked. I began to reach out my arms to give him a hug when they told him I wasn't Beibei. It was pretty funny! This morning we left the apartment around 7:15 and came to the airport. Beibei, Jason, San, Sineerat, and I are now on our way to Beijing. It is about a 3 hour flight.
Where I stayed:
