Stanley Park is just beautiful, full of tall cedars and everywhere you look trees! I took the shuttle around the park which stopped at the totem poles and along a lot of the bays. The driver was really nice and was saying that the most devastating storm in years ripped right though the park and cleared an entire area. He wasn't kidding, there where trees that were 100s of years old ripped out of the ground. The storm was in Dec 06 and park rangers have just finished clearing the trees off the roads
I then headed off to the Aquarium which was a lot of fun. I saw my first piranha and sloth and managed to get some good photos. What is a Sloth doing in an aquarium you ask? I have no idea but he was in the jungle area in a large butterfly exhibit eating grapes. The aquarium had beluga whales, which I am sorry to say got the wrong end of the ugly stick, this coming from a marine life supporter. There was this HUGE sea lion; I would like to see anyone survive an attack by one of those suckers. I didn't get very good shots of him as he was swimming around too fast. Apart from that the usual things you find in an aquarium. I have got to say that Aqua is still the best aquarium I have ever been too (and I have been to a few) in the world.
Grouse Mountain was no even visible today because of the weather, hopefully tomorrow when Heather and I head up there it will be better, not likely though apparently. Well I am off, going to meet up with Heather and catch up.
I hope everyone is wonderful and keep the comments coming, it is good to hear from you all.
