Where I stayed
After checking in decided to go for a walk through this definately non tourist town. Once again found people to be friendly and just wanting to chat as I walked passed.
Hotel was near a river so decided to go for a walk along it. From the bridge, I could se in the distance a mosque and fleet of anchored ships. Had wanted to get down to the river near there but when I followed the road I found that all entrances leading to the river seemed to be private property
Along the way down the road passed lots of street food vendors and some street side markets with people selling all sorts of fruit and veg. Seems that this part of the street required you to pay to get in on your bike and bikes were parked everywhere. In the end bought something that someone called snake skin fruit (skin looks like snake skin) but not sure if it has another real name. In the same area also found a fish market (mostly by smell) and a poultry shop.
Wandered around a bit and am sure I overpaid for the papaya (50c) I bought. Ended up stopping at a barber for a haircut which cost me just under $2 and included a 5min head and should massage. never gonna find that at home.
Made my way to a street vendor for a dinner of Nasi Goreng and avocado smoothie for the price of $3. also found a bakery so bought a couple of sweets. Not sure what the things were made out of but found I liked the taste and tecture.
