Where I stayed
Ito Sensei was kind enough to let me crash out at his house again and get lifts for me to/from training and around the place for other things. Since the house was full with 4 Japanese people decided to pitch the tent in the back yard. Certainly got a number of comments about that and if nothing else its something theyll remeber about my visit. Unfortunately for me a rain cloud decided to visit seattle along with me and it rained on-off (mostly on) while I was there. Thankfully only had a couple of small leaks in tehe tent and used a towel to clean these up before things got wet. Noe the less afew things were a bit damp due to the wet weather.
Interesting enough training sessions with a lot of push hands stuff being done. Interesting to feel the difference when doing it against deferent people and how their preconceptions determine how they decide to make their body move. That is while we were doing ths same movements the exercises focused on different things but some people couldnt get the point. Or maybe it was just me. Also lucky enough to see sesan kata again and think I at least got the basic sequence down (minus 1 or 2 bits Im not sure about the order) so taped myself doing it since Im not likely to remember by the time I get home. Also when talking about the kata Yamashiro sensei mention a few details that I had previously picked up but forgotten about.
Yamashiro sensei also like to cook so had fried eggs and salmon for breakfast and some nice pork katsui on the last night I was there. On top of the karate also went out for a few drinks in the evening and chatted with some of the other guys doing the seminar.
Headed out early on Monday to get my flight back to San Francisco.
