Where I stayed
Caught the bus and found that it was actually 3 buses due to the amount of people heading down to the beach. Got dropped off in El Rocio which was a small town with character located by one of the lakes in the park. Also near one of the visitor centers. Interesting in that the town had no bituman roads. Instead it had beach sand streets that were watered down in order to make them harder. Also interesting to note that most of the homes owned by pilgrims who flock to the town once a year for a religious festival.
Ended up heading down to the visitor center and doing the nearby trail
Headed back and wandered around the lake and through the town which had some interesting buildings. Wandered out of town and thought about continuing around the lake through the NP but ran into a fence. Always with these bloody fences. Found some horses and cattle in the general area and watched them for a bit. Definately have to watch out for the Grazalema cattle with their long wicked horns. definately dont want them charging you.
Eventually continued my way along and found a trail into the park or should I say 4WD track. Lots of loose beach sand which would definately make it a struggle to walk along so probably a good thing that I didnt try for a longer walk to a campsite.
While heading into town saw someone try to drive down the track into the park in a normal car. Cant believe how dumb some people are. they saw that the track was made of loose sand (20cm deep tire tracks in sand) but found a side track with harder sand
Still had time in the day so decided to head down the rest of the way to the beachside town of Matalascaņas. Lots of locals from Seville seemed to come here for a weekend swim even though the weathers not so great today. Didnt have lots of time and ended up getting off one stop to late so didnt have time to visit the sand dune that forms part of the park. Instead only had time to wander along the seaside path past all the holiday houses and hotels and get some views of the beach.
