So here we are...
My first travel blog type thing.  Guess I should explain where I am and whats going on right now.
Well... where I am is at home, at my Mum's house in East Grinstead, West Sussex.  And what am I doing?
Well... I'm typing this entry while my friends Ewa and Wojtek are watching 'The Devil Wears Prada' with my Mum and Alec.  I've always wanted to watch this film but I'm too far into this now to start, so I guess I'll just go through the last week leading up to us leaving for Peru tomorrow.

Basically I've been stressed up to my eye balls try not to forget anything for this adventure; possibly the craziest thing I've done in my life, but then I've done some crazy things if I think back hard (well recently there was a slight incident with a banana, but the person involved will know more about that).

This last week has been pretty busy with saying goodbye to everyone I know, and all of the well wishes I have received have been really touching.  Especially the guys at the office at Kew, (ex-staff too).  It's been a fun five years with many ups and downs, and it's gonna be weird not seeing you lot for so long, but it's just time for a break.  I hope some of you will still be there when I get back.  I'm looking forward to a stiff drink in the Booty-nest on the Tuesday.  (Liz, keep it free ok:)

Yesterday I picked up my trusty travelling companions from Luton (after a short 4 hour wait) and ate some filthy beefy rice thing, yuck.  It's ok, I washed it down with a filthy Burger King, hopefully the diet will improve in SA (South America).

My travelling buddies are Ewa Dudek, one of my closest female friends (although we've had our bumpy times) and her brother Wojtek, (who will beat me on Pro-Evo one day) who I met when I went to Ewa's for christmas last year and is a really cool guy.  And yes they are both Polish, which has caused no end of problems on the visa front, not for SA but for transfering through the USA would you believe??

Hopefully that's all sorted now, fingers crossed.

Anyway, today I have been mostly shopping for last minute things.  Water Purification Tablets, Insect repellent, Mountain Boots....  <Get these early if you want to avoid blisters.  I already have one.  A shoe lace burn on my finger who'd believe it.

Finally, everything is packed and ready to go... so I'm going to go and relax now.  Next time I write, it may be from a Lama shed in Cayamarca.  Hugs to all that are reading this, take care Ad:)
