Merry Christmas family and friends! We miss you all. It is a bit surreal to celebrate Christmas in India. We've seen quite a few Indian Santas that cannot speak English!
On Christmas Day Adam and I found ourselves traveling from Jaipur to Delhi. We took a government operated luxury Volvo bus from the Jaipur central bus station and it was an reasonable (Rs460 each) and comfortable choice - much better than the private bus lines that make you stop at unnecessary tourist stands in hope that you buy nick-knacks as we found out on the way to the Taj.
Once in Delhi we called Andy, Adam's cousin, who coincidentally was in Delhi with his girlfriend Miriam at the same time we were. Andy and Miriam were visiting a friend, so we had a sort of Christmas dinner with them at a restaurant in Connaught Place. A new central park had just opened and the streets were full of people visiting the opening. Christmas is a holiday in India, so many people had the day off from work. It was fantastic to spend some time with family on Christmas - we all caught up, laughed, and enjoyed some Asian food. (sounds familiar - mom, dad and emily -- asian food on christmas!)
